The Hidden Dangerous of Feminine Hygiene Products

the hidden dangerous in feminine hygiene products main title
Title

Have you ever wondered if your feminine products were safe to use or wear? I guess many don't even consider such things, as we rely and put our trust in governments, the manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies to follow strict policies and procedures to ensure that the products we use, consume and wear are tested, ethically created and meet said safety rules and regulations in order to protect the consumer and do no harm intentionally... Right?! - Well think again

In July 2024, Researchers from the University of California, Berkeley examined 30 tampons from 14 different brands and found all 16 metals they were testing for in each type.

The metals found included arsenic, lead, mercury, nickel, copper, and iron, among others.

We have known for many years of research and supporting evidence, that our feminine products including Organic "branded" Tampons, Sanitary Towels, Period Pants and other products like wipes, vaginal washes, creams etc contain Toxins and chemicals such as Phthalates, volatile organic compounds, parabens, environmental phenols, fragrance chemicals, dioxins and dioxin-like compounds and PFAS, also known as 'forever chemicals. (see printable PDF for details of chemicals and their dangerous)

Experts warn and are concerned about the many health risks associated from using such products, as metal poisoning in itself can kill anyone, not to mention the increase risk of dementia, cancer, infertility, and diabetes - creating issues in the liver, kidneys and brain, as well as the cardiovascular, nervous and endocrine systems, cancers. It can also be harmful to unborn babies too.

Our "moo moos" or(whatever your call your vagina now days) are very fragile, making us even more vulnerable to gynaecological issues, hormonal imbalances and other conditions such as Toxic Shock Syndrome - just from using Tampons or Sanitary pads - let alone having them filled with chemicals and metals, which can easily be absorbed into our bloodstream by simply wearing them.

Experts are advocating for better testing and regulations of feminine products, but doesn't mean that these greedy companies care or will even listen! - how can we trust them after years of negligence and harm.

What measures can we take to safeguard ourselves and which products are considered safer for use?

  1. First things first - Ditch using Tampons and allow for a natural free flow period. This in itself is safer and helps prevent Toxic Shock Syndrome.

2. Make sure to ALWAYS CHECK THE INGREDIENTS in all items, such as body care products, shampoos, and foods! - Harmful toxins and chemicals can be found in various products. Strive for a lifestyle focused on purity. Remember that large corporations may not prioritize your well-being!

3. It is important to conduct thorough research to stay well-informed and make informed choices when selecting products and produce for yourself and your family. - as the term goes you are what you eat! same applies to the products you use.

4. Go for products that made with no fragrances, dyes, bleaches and plastics - for example: try using unscented pure cotton pads or liners. Although more expensive compared to the cheap toxic brands - you cant put a price on health!

NON AFFILAITED - RECOMENDATIONS BELOW:

  • Natracare Organic Cotton Ultra Pads. These are free from nasty chemicals and toxins, are bio degradable and Chlorine Free, Plastic Free

  • Luna Cotton Day or Night Towels. Apparently they are 100% organic perforated top sheet. Cellulose absorbent core. Plant-based biofilm back sheet. ‘Sustainably sourced & certified release paper’100% organic cotton wings.

  • Washable & Reusable Period Pads - made from cotton, muslin or other material! Cost effective, washable and breathable. Simply wear on top of your knickers and bleed away. However, you will need to change often depending on your flow. .

  • Charcoal Infused Period Cotton Pads - made from Cotton and Charcoal aimed to soak up the blood and help with smell. Simply wear on top of your knickers and bleed away. However, you will need to change often. While you have the option to buy menstrual cups, I personally do not recommend them as they are simply another vaginal product made of silicone or other plastics.

THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT BRANDS AND OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO YOU. JUST BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE DONE YOUR RESEARCH AND IS WILLING TO TEST PRODUCTS TO SEE WHAT BEST SUITS YOU, AS WE ARE ALL UNIQUELY DIFFERENT!

I'm curious, which feminine hygiene products do you prefer?

Do you know of any that are free from harmful toxins and chemicals?

Have you experienced any adverse reactions to using tampons or other feminine products? Your feedback and stories are valuable to us.

Let's come together to support this cause.
